  2. Some drug abusers are not addicts, all addicts are New Yorkers, so some drug abusers are not New Yorkers.



  3. Some people who are punished are people who are having fun, since all wicked people are people who are being punished, and some wicked people are people who are having fun.

Section Four: Translate the following syllogisms into standard form and indicate the mood and figure. For those which are invalid construct a counter-example.

  1. All greeks are mortal, for all human beings are mortal, and all greeks are human beings.





  2. All New Yorkers are baby killers, so some baby killers are not vegetarians, since some New Yorkers are not vegetarians.





  3. No sex-crazed maniacs are satiated people, and all people in this logic class are satiated people, so some people in this logic are not sex-crazed maniacs.
