Grading for Art History and Appreciation-101

Text Book: A World of Art, fifth edition, Henry M. Sayre (required)

Test format: 10 fill in the blanks = 20 points (2 points each) for test 1 and 2

                            (Test 3 will have 10 identification/artist questions)

                           40 multiple choice = 80 points (2 points each)

For the test:

You may use a 3x5 index card for your test-you may write anything you want to on this card. In place of the card, you may cut out a piece of paper that is 3 inches by 5 inches. A folded piece of paper will not be allowed.

  

CLASS RULES

1. Please use good manners and consideration with cell phones.

    If you HAVE to text or use your phone, please leave the classroom.

            a. If used during a test, I will take up your test and give you a ZERO.

            b. If used during a regular class period, I will stop my lecture and wait for you to

                finish your texting and put your phone away.

 

2. You may NOT leave the classroom during a test. Leaving the classroom during a test

     will result in a ZERO for that test

3. Make-up tests will be 3 Compare and Contrast Essay questions graded

    for content, spelling, use of proper English,  and grammar.

4.  NO ONE may exempt the final or the Reaction/Museum Paper.

 

 

 

Criteria for the Reaction Paper

Use the format described in “Writing a Museum Paper” handout. Choose one artwork from your museum visit and write about it using the suggestions from How to Write a Museum Paper. You may also write about the museum architecture.

Remember that architecture is also art.

 

 

Paper is due by November 25, 2009.

ABSOLUTELY NO late papers will be accepted.
