A Library Book Record

All the basic information is included in the Library catalog book record.

Note the three tabs at the top of the record.  The Item Information tab gives you details about the book's availability (is it checked out?), as well as its call number, which you can use to find its location in the library.  "Stacks-Circulating" means that the item can be checked out and will be found in the tall stacks area.  "Reference" items, kept on the short shelves close to the Circulation Desk, do not check out, but you may make photocopies as needed.  A Look Inside may provide a book summary, a review from a journal, or a table of contents.  The Catalog Record is the "official" record in the database and serves as the basis of all searching.  If your search term does not match a term here, the record will not be found.
