Newspapers

Newspapers

Newspapers provide articles each day about current events and are a good source for local information.

Newspapers, like journals and magazines, are called "periodicals" because they are published regularly, or periodically.

Use a Newspaper

  • to find current information about international, national and local events
  • to find editorials, commentaries, expert or popular opinions

Examples

  • Wall Street Journal
  • New York Times
  • Anderson Independent-Mail

The TCTC Library subscribes to most of the local newspapers like The Greenville News, The Daily Messenger, Easley Progress, and The Westminster News, as well as to USA Today, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and The Wall Street Journal.

Additionally, through our online databases, we have access to current and backfile articles in thousands of newspapers throughout the world.  Check the News section on the Database page to bring up an appropriate database to search.
