CataCCatalog Description: 

 

This course will cover introductory microcomputer multimedia concepts and applications.  The course will utilize text, graphics, animation, sound, video, and various multimedia applications in the design, development, and creation of multimedia presentations.

 

Entry-Level Skills:

 

Students should have mastered the use of a mouse, keyboard, and presentation software in CPT 170 or its equivalents.

 

Pre-Requisites:    CPT 170 or CPT 178.

·        USB flash drive

 

·        Headset

 

Course Competencies and Objectives:

 

Upon completion of CPT 290, students should be able to:

1        Define multimedia and multimedia objects.

2        Create text, graphics, sound, and video files using various software and hardware systems.

3        Create hypermedia, in which you link multimedia objects to make presentations and applications.

4        Create a multimedia application.

 


Major Course Topics:

 

  • Using Fireworks to create and edit images to be used in building multimedia presentation.
  • Using Microsoft Publisher to create brochures, flyers, newsletters, and business cards.
  • Creating cel and path (2-D) animations.
  • Creating a morph animation.
  • Using Macromedia Flash to create multimedia presentations.
  • Using Dreamweaver to create multimedia websites.
