Course Competencies
and Objectives: |
Upon satisfactory completion of IST 220, the student should be able to: · Define the basic system development process and name the people who are involved. · Understand the fundamentals of project management. · Conduct a preliminary investigation, including a feasibility analysis. · Perform systems analysis including determining requirements and completing documentation. · Use appropriate analysis and design tools, such as data flow diagrams, decision tables, entity relationship diagrams and CASE tools. · Develop an implementation plan that includes training schedule and materials, file-conversion planning and evaluation methods. · Demonstrate documentation and presentation skills at all stages in the system life cycle. |

Grade Calculation
Method: |
There will be a Mid Term Exam at the mid-point of the semester and a Final Exam at the end of the course. Throughout the course short quizzes will be given and a series of assignments will be completed. At the end of the term, the final grade is calculated as follows:
