Tri-County Technical College Computer and Information Technology Department
Through the Microsoft Developers Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA), Tri-County Technical College is able to offer select software titles from Microsoft to students enrolled in CPT/IST courses. The primary types of titles available are operating systems (Windows versions) and developer tools (Visual Studio).
You should have received an e-mail message from the MSDN Academic Alliance Software Center (formerly the ELMS system) saying that you have been registered in the system. The message contains the Web address for the MSDN Academic Alliance Software Center system , along with your username and password for the system. All students who are enrolled in at least one CPT/IST course are eligible for the program, and should have received the e-mail message from the MSDN Academic Alliance Software Center.
A product purchased through the MSDNAA program offers the same functionality as a product purchased through the retail market, and unlike software that accompanies textbooks, the product will not terminate or expire after a set number of days.
The method of distribution for these titles is CD Media Sales (mail order), through the MSDN Academic Alliance Software Center web site. You pay a small fee to cover the cost of the CD media itself. Software titles typically sell for less than $20.00. In addition, you must pay a shipping and handling fee, which varies depending on the shipping option (regular or priority). Sales tax is not charged. Payment must be made by MasterCard or Visa. You also must agree to the MSDN Academic Alliance—Student Use Guidelines. Finally, for CD Media Sales, be aware that someone must sign for the software when it is delivered. You will receive the software on CD, along with a CD Key to "unlock" the software.

Please remember that these titles are being offered at extremely low discounts (Visual Studio .NET 2003 Professional sells for over $1,000), and because of that, there are no cancellations or refunds.

NOTE: Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Word) is NOT
available.
Instructions for installing Visual Studio .NET 2003
Visual Studio .NET 2003 is shipped on seven (7) CDs. The order that the CDs are packaged from the MSDN Academic Alliance Software Center is the order that the CDs should be installed. The installation order for the Visual Studio .NET 2003 CDs is:
If all of the necessary support files are not currently installed on the PC prior to installing Visual Studio .NET 2003, the installation may ask for the Pre-Requisites CD after the Product Key CD.
