Composer Report

 

Guidelines for the Composer Report

2 sources:         1 internet        1 book

Power point presentation:       5 or 6 screens minimum

More images, less words.  No screen should be all text.

Avoid too many dates.

Listen to 1 hour of music by your composer.  Record your examples and times in a listening log to be turned in. 

Choose several works to play for the class in your report.  Up to 5 minutes of your time can be music.

Each member of your group must submit a listening log.  Each person must take part in the report

 

Grading         

How to make a good grade on your presentation:

  • Appearance is important

  • Dress is business casual

  • No shorts        

  • No hats```

  • Be enthusiastic about your subject.

  • Have enough information.  Don’t be lacking in content. 

  • Information is accurate.

  • You may have a few note cards with notes on what you want to say.

  • Make eye contact with the class. 

  • Know your subject well enough that you do not read from the cards or power point.

  • Check pronunciation of unfamiliar words ahead of time.

  • Musical examples chosen with care from your listening log.
