Who can earn professional training credits? Teachers of any level and of any subject with an interest in learning Spanish and about the Hispanic culture are invited to participate in this once in a lifetime experience.
What if I’ve never studied Spanish before? It’s okay. A Spanish class at Tri-County included in your program fee. Language classes in Mexico are tailored to your level of Spanish.
What if I already know Spanish? The language institute can create a more advanced course for you with cultural topics included.
How many credits can I earn? There are 104 contact hours.
Why should I participate? You can overcome many of your language and cultural obstacles with Hispanic students by spending time in Mexico learning and living the language.
What will I learn? Spanish and lots about Mexican culture!
How much does it cost? $2175
What do I get for $2175? The program fee includes a 20-hour Spanish class at Tri-County, orientations pre-departure and upon arrival in Mexico, round-trip airfare, 25 hours of Spanish classes per week at a language institute in Cuernavaca, lodging and most meals with Mexican host families, sightseeing excursions and a program director.
What’s not included in the program fee? Your passport, spending money, local transportation costs, dinners, vaccinations or immunizations
Who are the program directors?
Kari Carson is a Spanish Instructor at Tri-County Technical College with study abroad experience in Salamanca, Spain; Puebla, Mexico; San José, Guatemala. She co-directed Tri-County’s 2006 program in Mexico.
Trini Tumlin is a Spanish Instructor at Tri-County Technical College and native of Cuernavaca, Mexico. She co-directed Tri-County’s 2006 and 2007 programs in Mexico.
